Ambiant information

Ambiant Devices is an amazing company that makes objects that can convey information in the background. Originally they brought out the Orb which glows different colours depending on the state of the stockmarket, outside temperature (or whatever you want to programme to track). They also have a really snazzy 5 day weather predictor which you attach your fridge or wall. Unfortunately their devices don't work in the UK as the technology is based on a US wide data network.
